Women and men who are concerned about their facial aging but are not ready for a full facelift may benefit from a mid-facelift. A mid-facelift refers to the area from the corners of a person’s eyes to the corners of your mouth.
The areas a mid-facelift targets for rejuvenation includes your nose, cheeks and the area above your upper lip.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM A MID-FACELIFT?
As we age, most people lose a significant amount of fat from their cheeks. This loss can also come from weight loss.
You may be a candidate for a mid-facelift if you have:
- Sagging cheeks
- Deep nasolabial lines (folds from the base of the nose to the corner of the lips)
- Facial wrinkles
Typically, an ideal mid-facelift candidate is one who has a good amount of skeletal support or baseline volume for the procedure.
During your consultation with Dr. Clymer, he will review your surgical options with you to determine which facelift procedures, full facelift, mini-facelift or mid-facelift will best achieve your anti-aging facial and neck rejuvenation goals.
HOW IS A MID-FACELIFT PROCEDURE PERFORMED?
Dr. Clymer performs his mid-facelift surgeries in an accredited outpatient surgical center under local anesthetic and sedation medication. The mid-facelift procedure is an endoscopic procedure. It requires a minimal incision that is hidden behind the hairline.
Restoration of a patient’s cheek volume can include cheek implants, dermal fillers or fat transfer dependent upon the specific needs of the patient. Many of these may be performed in conjunction with the mid-facelift.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AFTER YOUR MID-FACELIFT?
Recovery time varies from patient to patient; however, most patients resume regular activities within two weeks.*
